Players Page - RB Mike Bell

Mike Bell played high school football in Tolleson, a city just outside of Phoenix. In 2002, he got a good amount of playing time, due to Clarence Farmers knee injury early in the season. In 2003, started behind Farmer again for the most part, but when he was given the chance to be the go to guy, the Wildcats suddenly found themselves a runner who wouldn't dance, while holes filled up. He would hit them quick, and with speed. After Farmer was kicked off the team, Bell showed everyone that he was the man for the job. He ended with 920 Rushing yards, averaging 5.5 yards per carry. His accomplishments in 2003 earned him a spot on the All-PAC-10 team.

In 2004, Bell was the number one running back without question. Mike Bell had a decent amount of success, since he fits in well with a spread-style offense that Mike Stoops has focused on.

In 2005, the Wildcats recruited some serious running talent in Terry Longbons and Xavier Smith. Bell will continue to be the feature back in the offense, but he will need to keep up a high level of success, or else the new guys may get some serious playing time. I look for Bell to be a league leading rusher in 2005.
